A. Stabilizer is cyanuric acid and it protects chlorine residual from loss to sunlight. With a stabilizer, more chlorine is left in the water to do the job of sanitizing, and less is wasted – i.e. burned off by the sun. Proper levels reduce chemical use and maintenance costs.  With the pump running, slowly add the prescribed amount of stabilizer through the skimmer and keep the water circulating 24 hours.
